Convention History and Recaps

Each LCCA convention has its own look and feel. While all LCCA Conventions have the same overall positive feel, each year is different, each year is exciting, and each year creates memories for all attendees. Many members mark the passage of time by referring to specific convention years and cities.

To highlight these differences and to emphasize the uniqueness of each convention, Convention Logos have been created. Starting with the 1992 Convention in Orlando, specific logo has been created and appearing on all convention activity for that year. The logo carries with it the memories of the friends reunited or in many cases made, of the tours, the hotel and events and the Lionel Trains.

The individual logos come in various sizes and shapes, are available in all convention literature and in many cases, have been made into pins offered at registration and in the LCCA Convention Store. The pins do tell a story, describing the city, local relevance, and of course all have LCCA highlighted.

Like most organizations, the LCCA was negatively impacted by Covid and for two years the convention was delayed. In 2020 after almost 3 months of open registrations, the LCCA BOD reluctantly canceled the convention but working with our hotel partners was able to reschedule the Omaha event in 2024. In fact, the logos from the 2020 and 2024 conventions make a nice, coordinated set. The 2021 convention scheduled for Scranton was rescheduled before a logo was created.
