LCCA commemoratives are not sold in train stores or through dealers. They are offered exclusively to club members through its publications, on site at its Annual Convention, or at the online LCCA Store.
LCCA Convention Cars
The LCCA designs and Lionel produces a limited-edition Convention Car every year. The design of the car is generally based on the locale of the Convention. A limited number of these are produced, so the cars become instant collectibles.
LCCA On-site Convention Cars
Especially collectible are the highly prized On-site Convention cars. The On-site Convention Cars are available for purchase only to club members who attend the Convention in person. Each car is thematically linked to the region of the Convention. The quantity produced is very limited, assuring rarity.
LCCA On-site Convention Banquet Cars
A relatively recent and highly prized collectible, the Banquet Car is presented to a small number of lucky recipients during the festive banquet that concludes each Convention on Saturday evening. These unique cars are offered by a random pattern to one guest per table, and the suspenseful process is always a fun-filled mystery. Because this car is gifted - never sold - to a few fortunate recipients, it is a special treasure to collectors and operators.
LCCA Christmas Cars
A relatively recent and highly prized collectible, the LCCA Christmas Car was created with the absorption of the LRRC club from Lionel. Christmas Cars were a offering that Lionel had produced for a number of years and the LCCA decided to continue the tradition for these former LRRC members as well as our entire membership.LCCA Christmas Cars
